Journey of Hope

Artist: Emily Winsor

Per guidance from the Sacramento County Public Health Officer, the “Mental Illness: It’s not always what you think” project has decided to postpone the Journey of Hope exhibit until further notice.  The project’s top priority is to protect the health, well-being, and safety of the participating artists, project team members and venue staff. We are doing our part to protect our community from exposure to COVID-19 and follow State and local social distancing requirements. We appreciate your continued support and encourage everyone’s compliance with directives and updates from Sacramento County: https://www.saccounty.net/COVID-19/Pages/default.aspx.

Our fundamental mission is to reduce stigma and discrimination in Sacramento County, and promote mental health and wellness throughout the community. In an effort to continue our mission, we encourage artists to submit images of their artwork, which may be shared on our Twitter and Facebook pages as a way to continue our project mission during this time. If you are interested in having your artwork included in the project’s “virtual photo gallery,” please send a photo to the project team at: info@stopstigmasacramento.org.

We are all a part of the solution for managing this situation and supporting health and wellness in our community. Stay informed on the status of COVID-19 in California, on ways to protect yourself and tips for managing stress, anxiety and depression during this time by visiting the California Department of Public Health’s website.
